Dear Mum,
What can I say about you?
You have been my mentor right from birth and you would always be. You have had a wonderful impact in so many people's lives and trust me mum, when I say I am so proud of you. You were everybody's comforter and of course everybody's mother.
You loved the Lord with all your heart and not a soul on this earth can say you didn't serve Him with the most precious gift ever, your life. Oh mum! I remember all the good times we had together. I remember the last morning you spent with me and how you were dancing and remembering Tolu and Jimmy.
I am so happy because I know you are
in heaven and God is celebrating you with a thousand crowns and also because I have no doubt that you made it to where you always wanted to be. I mean, come on, mum you are so amazing. You are so wonderful, I heard about how you were preaching to those kids on the plane at the peak of your death. I can't imagine my life without you, you made me who I am today and I
promise you mum, I would carry on the legacy.
It is so funny, when I see your face on the front cover with big headlines, "PASTOR BIMBO ODUKOYA feared dead".
I never in my wildest dreams ever imagined what was in store for me on the 10th of December 2005. I always thought you were going to be there for my graduation and all those important events in my life but I know that God has a plan for everything.
After you left, I have come to realise that in every situation, even in the midst of danger or trouble, still praise God. I love you mum and you knew that because you used to say it a lot, "This Tobi girl, she is just in love with me". Oh my darling, sweet, precious mum, you fulfilled your heart desire because even after your (death) you are still touching lives around the world. You are an impeccable being and a wonderful mother.
To the first woman in my life.
